The Falls Creek Sled Dog Classic Inc. is seeking interested and able persons for the 2016 Falls Creek Sled Dog Classic.

Positions Available Include: 

Corner Marshals 

Requires understanding of race rules, people skills and an introductory level of experience with dog teams. 
Some Corner Marshal positions require that the guards must ride into designated positions on snow-machines (chauffeured by Falls Creek Management), into somewhat remote places. 
Corner Marshals are responsible for maintaining a clear trail for all teams and for providing assistance at the allowed levels for competitors.  On some corners the Corner Marshals will have to be able to make decisions on whether to let through and when not to let through, over snow transport. 

Trail Support Team 

Requires ability to complete somewhat strenuous work outside. 
Set up of track, including event signage, trail markers, barricades, start and finish chutes, etc…. 

Team Organisers 

Requires people skills and an introductory level of experience with dog teams. 
Required to get teams from the car parking area, to the team parking bays, then out to the start chute in an orderly manner. 

Sled Holders

Requires strength and a willing enthusiasm, people skills and an introductory level of experience with dog teams. 
Responsible for holding sleds at the start line on behalf of mushers, until required by said Musher. 

*All positions are required to be able to use a phone and radio and must be suitably attired for the weather conditions. 

An orientation will be conducted with all volunteers prior to race day (details tba) and a Team Meeting will be held race day prior to sign in, registration and bib draw.
